This experience is likened to a river of water. This scripture talks about the baptism of the Holy Spirit which is received by those who already believe. But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given because that Jesus was not yet glorified. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. John 7:37-39: In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. The level of the Holy Spirit in us at conversion is likened to a well of water. This experience is compared to a well of water.
This illustration is talking about our encounter with the Holy Spirit at new birth, for no one can say «Jesus is Lord» except by the Holy Spirit. As a result, Jesus tried to show her that He was more than just a Jew He had something more to offer her that she knew not of –a well of living water flowing from inside her. The woman was astonished, because the Jews didn’t have anything to do with the Samaritans. In the above scripture, Jesus met a Samaritan woman at the well and asked her to give Him water to drink. Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life (John 4: 13-14). Let us explore the different levels of the Holy Spirit. Initiation brings about identification and it is in the course of identification that we receive an overflow –a higher dimension of the Holy Spirit.
It is like an initiation into spiritual depth. It is the matriculation ceremony into the school of anointing and power. Baptism of the Holy Spirit is just the beginning of the race.
There is a difference between the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the Anointing. It is an outflow of the Holy Spirit through a human vessel. Whatever you don’t want to see grow in your life, as soon as satan suggests it to your mind, uproot it, cast it down! If you allow satan’s seed to grow, it will choke the word of God in your heart till the word becomes ineffective, and evil will begin to manifest around you. When a farmer sees weeds trying to grow around his crops, he immediately starts uprooting them. Satan is not a man to deal with quietly, you have to give him fire for fire! Never allow his seed to get to the ground of your heart, cast it out before it has time to germinate. So satan keeps establishing himself till his evil intention comes to pass. He goes to a student for instance and tells him, “Forget it, no matter how hard you read, you will fail this exams.” And the student remains cool, no reaction. Many people suffer all manner of calamities in life because they accepted the suggestions of satan to their minds. Evil imaginations only have the power to manifest in your life when you do nothing about them. If he did, he wouldn’t require your permission to do so.

Satan is free to suggest all manner of evil to your mind but he does not have the power to enforce them. You can pull down the devil from any height! How? But even then, they are effectual through God to the pulling down of strongholds. The word ‘canal’ in this context means they are not physically identified or seen. That is why the next verse says, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds ” And a war is fought with weapons, not toys.
